Weekend in Waverly

We traveled to Waverly this past weekend to visit Papa Stu and Gramma Sally. It was Wartburg Homecoming, their 40th Anniversary, and family picture time, so we had a fun-filled, action-packed weekend! And aside from the fact that Scott, Jack, and I had to listen to Quinn scream for 4 of the 6 hours of traveling time, it was a blast!(Big boy car seat, BAD!)

Sally, the boys, and I did some major shopping on Friday while Scott and Stu golfed in the Wartburg tourney. We also hit the Center for Arts in Waterloo for their interactive children's exhibit-very cool!

Saturday was the parade where Jack plugged his ears and Quinn danced on Grandma's lap to the bands. Then family pictures-we had been quite worried that this would be Quinn's nap time and that he would be fussy-well he was happy as a lark and very smiley, but Jack had to be bribed with trucks and suckers to even stand by the rest of us-go figure! Scott's sister, Amy, and her family and our family had a surprise get-together for friends to celebrate Stu and Sally's 40th Anniversary-I think that they knew it was coming, though still had a great time!

Jack had such a great time playing with his cousins, Sadie and Sara, we weren't sure that he was going to come home with us. They are very sweet, polite, and responsible girls who help out so much with the boys-we sure wished that they lived closer!

A side-trip on the way home, to the fun park in Rockwell City, was a much needed break from Quinn's screaming! We had a great weekend-thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Brunette, Baby!

A few shots of the new "do" I think that I may have been kidding myself for a number of years, calling myself a blonde. Even though this is much darker than I had been, it is definitely closer to my natural color. I am liking it, and Hillary did a great job-you will have to ask her someday about "wax"!

"Uncle Seebs"

Well, that's "Uncle Steve" for the lay person! Steve and his girlfriend, Mariam, made the trip to Holstein this past weekend. Steve was in a wedding in Sioux Falls, but we know that he really came to see us! Jack loves Steve, and Steve proved his Uncle worship worthiness by crawling around on the floor driving trucks, letting Jack boss him araound at free reign, and reading to Jack from the "Pirate Times, Class of '94" edition. Don't ask me where this paper came from, but Jack thought it was quite interesting! Of course Quinn also loves his uncle, though the love is pretty much outpouring for anyone who tickles, kisses, or plays with him. We also loved meeting Mariam and the fact that she fit right in with the "Albers" bad jokes and all! Just so you know, Uncle Scott, you have your "uncle" work cut out for you in November to remain in the standings!

A Day in the Life

Trucks, trains, tractors, coloring, ball-popping-all in a day at the Thorson throwdown!

Papa's and Mom's

Last weekend Scott's parents came for a visit, the boys love this. Jack gets to show off all his new tricks, and Quinn gets extra snuggles! And no one makes pancakes like Papa Stu! We had my parents over for supper Saturday night, all Jack could say was "2 Papa's!" I guess he couldn't believe his luck of 2 grandpa's at the same time. I am not sure why my Dad didn't get into any of the pictures-but he was here playing with the best of them!
