The Boys of Summer

Not too much new going on around here, normal summer boy things- swimming, squirtguns, mowing, and bike riding. Jack got a "big-boy" bike from Papa Stu this past week and he couldn't be happier. They had a deal that once he mastered pedaling on his trike, they would go pick one out. He was very determined and each morning would strap in his sandals (still in jammies) and head to the garage to "practice"! Now that he is "big" enough for a big-boy bike he thinks that he is big enough to head on over to the high school and start some classes, he was very disappointed to learn that he had to attend his preschool for a few more years :)
Both boys are loving the pool, and are quite a handful for just one mommy, as neither of them believe in drowning!

We attended the Sturgis Falls parade on Saturday, both boys loved it.
Quinn wouldn't stop yelling"mow-mows!" whenever he saw anything that resembled a mower, including tractors, trucks and cars!
Fun summer times!

Happy Father's Day!

To Scott, the funniest, silliest, most imaginative, affectionate, loving Daddy I know, Happy Father's Day! I love you and I love the kind of dad you are to our boys! (By the way they are pretty crazy about you too!)

And also to my Dad-I wouldn't know what made a great Dad if it wasn't for you! (you make a great Papa, too!)

Hagemann Girls!

We attended my friend Laura (from my college days at UNI) and her man, Adam's wedding in Okoboji last weekend. I was actually a personal attendant w/ my old roommate, Harman, and our 4th partner in crime, Christina, shot the beautiful photos.
We had so much fun living in Hagemann Hall our freshman year, and learned many things together such as: wearing the proper attire to the bar (black pants, black boots, express shirt), attaining proper identification to said bars, how to mix ketchup and ranch together in the dining hall to make the food taste better, and how to get eachother through anything that year!
Anyway, definitely a beautiful wedding, with lots of love in the air, adult beverages consumed and dances danced! Now I remember why I love these girls so much! Congrats Adam and Laura!

New House Firsts

The boys are so excited about our new place. Everytime we leave, Jack asks about a million times if we are coming "back to my new house when we are done" They have adjusted well and are loving the extended running room, and the "circle" they have to chase around! We have found out quickly that socks and wood floors don't mix when playing chase! Jack also loved the attached garage for the easy accessability to admire the mower, and Quinn loves the same, but for the closeness to the "goggy" (also known as doggy.)

Our New House!

I am such a liar. In my last blog I said I would be posting in a week from my own computer in our new house, and now I am doing just that, only it is a MONTH later! I can't believe that no one called me out on my comment that "in one week we would paint the entire house, redo the bathrooms and be blogging from our new living room!" I mean really, one week, what was I thinking, and still everyone just let me think that that was possible....:) So anyway here I am sitting at a fully functioning computer set up in our beautiful, newly painted living room blogging while Scott and Jack watch Happy Feet on Scott's new flat-screen tv( which I guess came with the house? Man am I gullible!:)) There are many projects still to do, but we are here and happy, though we surely couldn't have done it without all of the help from our parents who painted, sanded, cleaned and provided great Grandma-care to our house-renovation orphaned chidren! We also were helped by friends, Scott's sister and Scott's parents neighbors-so great! So without further rambling-some before

during

and afters (just pretend there are doors on the kitchen cabinets, we redid those too and just have to reinstall them!)

Oh and just in case you want to test your marriage, refinish all of the woodwork in your house! Scott says this was the worst idea I have ever had-but we are sure loving the results! Though I will never miss soaking the woodwork dusk off of my contacts each night! More pics of the boys "firsts" in the house to come, but I cant tonight-that blog and the book-of-photos just took me 1 hour to post!
