The Bremer County Fairgrounds are about 7 blocks from our house, so to miss out on the festivities would be a crime! I, feeling brave, packed up the boys by myself and headed on down. I think I may have spent more money on "carnie" fair ride rides than we did at Adventureland! The boys thought it was Disneyworld and had the best time, and this is where Quinn fell in love with the ladybugs! He is crazy for them, I mean look at that face-
pure joy!
Jack rode his first Ferris wheel,
and loved the BIG slide! (though seriously $2 a slide? made me wince a little everytime he ran to the top)
And this is pretty much what they thought of the animals...
though we didn't leave until we had walked all the barns. They also got 2 balloon swords each, a very successful 2010 fair!
After the fair they were so pumped up about rides, I couldn't wait for them to see Adventureland. The night before we looked at pictures of the rides on the website, Jack stated " I'm riding the log ride-its gonna be awesome!" And Quinn could barely speak at the site of the Ladybugs!
We drove through rain almost all the way to Des Moines, but as we pulled in-out came the sun (and the heat and humidity!) Scott and the stroller brigade just inside the gate.

We went with Grandpa and Grandma Thorson, Brent, Amy, Sadie and Sara, and Grandpa and Grandma Albers. Here's the whole group grabbing a bite to eat-funnel cakes were consumed!
The Raging River. Scott, Quinn, Clay and Grandpa Stu waited this one out and got some good pictures!
Jack and Sara wanted to get "soaked" and left dry, Mom and Dad-on the other hand got all the splashes!
The Teacups, still so much fun!
Sadie, Mom and I had that cup spinning like crazy!
Ohhh, the Ladybugs.
The Log Ride. Dad caught this 1 second video by accident, Scott was telling me to hang onto Quinn-that one has no fear!
My thighs got a workout squeezing around his little body to keep him in the seat as we went down the big hill! Jack definitely got his wish to be "soaked" on this one, and it did end up being his favorite ride!
The last ride of the day was the Frog Hopper.
Jack rode 4 times in a row, Quinn went once-was scared the whole time and did not get back in line! :)
The kids had the best time, and we had the best time seeing Adventureland through their eyes! Can't wait for next year!
By the way-apparently blogger has changed everything up and I can't seem to get the new concept so this post may be a little "off!"
