Oh blog world how I need to catch up. Why does it seem like the more I have to talk about the more I procrastinate until I don't even know where to start? So instead of sorting all this out into pretty little posts, its gonna be a huge, messy mother of all posts!
We had the BEST time in Des Moines the 1st of October with the whole Albers crew. Uncle Steve and soon-to-be Aunt Mariam were in the state and we all felt the need to celebrate their great news!
The Ramada was a great time, 3 pools, 2 giant slides, a bar, arcade and poolside rooms made for fun. The boys were in heaven-they helped themselves to snacks from Grandma and Grandpa's room whenever they wanted, swam whenever they wanted (with an endless supply of people to take them up the slides) and played many money-sucking arcade games-what more could a kid want? So much fun! I only broke out my camera twice-3 pools, 2 wet boys and a camera don't mix!
This update is very overdue, but here goes, Jack can pump! While swinging that is! It seems that overnight he went from needing to be pushed and being vey confused at the concept of pumping to totally getting it and not ever wanting o get off the swing. I had never thought too much about this ability, but it must be huge for kids. To be able to provide their own entertaiment, independently, what amn accomplishment! Anyway-he is quite proud of himself.
He has been liking preschool, and loving his best friend Benny. I don't know what we would do without him-all we have to do is say Benny's name and Jack is ready and happy to go to school! He is learning so much, though it takes me about 20 questions to get any bits of information out of him. I remember my mom having to ask a million questions to get a story of one-worded answers out of my brothers. Such is the life of a mommy with boys! They are up to the letter D. You know-Da-Da-Dog. So cute-I love it.
Quinn and Clay are my morning buddies. We love to hang out in our jammies and cuddle on the couch,
and the favorite seems to be piling into the bathroom while I shower and get ready!
Quinn is copying everything Jack does and says-at this rate he will be reading before he goes to preschool-he can Ba-Ba-Ball with the best of them!
Clay continues to be smily and chubby-two great traits in a baby!
His new favorite activity is to be "worn" by me. You know like a 20lb fashion accessory :)
I think that it was just too hot to "wear" him this summer, but I am glad I pulled out my Moby wrap and tried it. I LOVE it-almost more than anything else.
The weather has been perfect for after school backyard playing. The boys have some great backyard and next-door neighbor friends.
Some afternoon cookie making (and sampling!)
I think that wraps it up-whew!
