Well it appears that I am down to blogging once a month...But we had a good February, so here we go!
We made a quick trip to Holstein to stay at Grandma and Grandpa's with Uncle Scott, Aunt Ashley, Kyra, Unlce Steve and Aunt Mariam.
The boys stayed busy on the 3 hour drive.
We had lots of fun catching up, eating and drinking. Even had snow time with a very handsome snowman!

On Valentines Day we gained 2 more pets. Mario and Luigi. The boys have had a good time watching their fish circle the bowl.
We had a short but wonderful warm spell. It was 60degrees so the big boys and I ventured out for a walk...
Carried a stick for a while
And then found the mud puddles!
I guess potholes are good for something. I told them they could go ahead and jump in them and at first I think they thought I had gone off the deep end, they kept looking back at me to make sure that it was ok. They had so much fun and got SO dirty and wet. I know for sure that their boots will never be the same-good thing snow season is almost over.
Jack's best friend, Benny, came over to play and eat lunch one day after school. Jack could. hardly. wait. for this. He had been asking for awhile to have Benny over, and finally had said to Scott, "Daddy do you know what a playdate is?" Hahaha. They had a great time making homemade pizza and shooting eachother with nerf guns.

We also had another conference with Jack's teacher. She thinks that he is doing great, is social and can follow directions. We are still practicing the right way to hold a pencil, though he has been writing his whole name now instead of just a "j." We were really up in the air about whether he should go to kindergarten next year or not. Its VERY hard not to compare your kids to others, and while helping at Jack's preschool I would see other kids writing away, coloring beautiful pictures and even reading. I felt that Jack was not really at that point and so questioned whether he was ready for the big times. You don't want to set your kid up for failure and I just kept hearing how hard school has gotten-especially 1st grade. After talking to our Dr, the elementary school principal and Jack's teacher, and also doing some kindergarten skill flash cards with Jack at home, I believe that we have settled that kindergarten it is. It seems like such a hard decision, and maybe with Quinn and Clay it will be easier, but with the first there are just a lot of questions. And I do have to apologize to Jack for thinking he wasn't "up on things" Man he aced those flash cards! And he is able to sit and listen and take turns (most of the time :)) Which is what kindergarten is supposed to be about, right? So sorry buddy, your Mommy surely didn't mean to sell you short, you are gonna kick kindergarten's bottom!
Quinn has been loving that Daddy has turned the basement into a construction zone. He will stay down there for hours moving boards around, sweeping the sawdust and hammering. This makes his 2nd favorite place Menards, and there hasn't been a shortage of trips to that store this month! He has fully mastered potty training #1 and #2 (please don't let that be a jinx) and scored some cool toy story undies that he loves so much that he wears them all night and keeps them dry! He loves stickers,
snuggles,
and grapes, and I fully stand behind my previous blogged statement that he will be the one to turn my hair gray!
And Baby Clay turned 8 months old?
I know, I can't believe it either. He has also become mobile. Not exactly crawling, but rolling and army skooching and getting into everything! The days of him lying on a nice, clean blanket with a few baby toys on it in the middle of the toy room are gone-he gets under the crib, rolls into the kitchen and steals the boys toys out of their bins! Aaaahhh....
He is still the happiest little thing, smiling, babbling (even noises that sound like "mamama" and "dadadada"!), and giggling.
He is very ticklish and will start laughing even before your touch him. He is eating up a storm and loves sweet potatoes, squash, apples and chicken, and chewing on the spoon.
On a sad note, he has decided that he can now put himself to sleep in his crib. Probably a good milestone, and I should be happy, but I'm not really. This Mommy still needs her snuggle time...
Unofficially he weighs 20lbs. He is wearing size 4 diapers (which have thankfully stopped the every single night wet through the sheets business) and 12-18month clothes. He also graduated to a big boy stroller, mostly because the wheel fell off our Graco one and I was not willing to shell out over $150 for a like model.
He loves his big boy ride and the boys love pushing him around the house.
And he is also sporty a shiny, sharp new baby tooth on the bottom right!
In other news, all the preceding pics are taken with my phone. :( Our camera card is full and so I used Scott's work camera until that camera card was full and then instead of ordering me a new camera card Scott ordered me a new camera that is to arrive tomorrow! Its still just a point and shoot, but has some great features that I will hopefully showcase next post! yay!
